We managed a quick trip into Jalon, a nearby town that we really don´t frequent unless it´s for the vets. It has a funny vibe and doesn´t feel right. They have a HELP charity shop there and I was hoping to find some suitable books for Theo to share during our video calls and to have here for when! they come over. Wasn´t a successful trip, the shop was really quite empty, then on the the vets to collect preventative flea treatments only he had forgotten to order them! Back on Tuesday.
I have planted okra again this year, putting more down than last as they seem to take so long to mature, also more french beans, as I noticed the snails have been busy again, despite putting crushed eggshells around the plugs. The same with the courgette, we have one more left, so have to barricade it in lol
Theo´s little jumper was nearly finished, or so I thought, but looking at the 2 glaring mistakes on the back, I just had to undo it, funny isn´t it, once you know it´s there it´s too hard to ignore. The pattern is one row knit and the next P1 and knit 1 into the stitch below, never tried this before and somehow (lack of concentrations I expect) I had reversed part of 2 rows. Oh well on it´s way now.
A couple of years ago, Chris bought me some lilies, they have come up every year, but this year they have made such a lovely display. Just have to be careful to remove the stamens because of the furries.
I´m also pleased the Gerberas are doing well, they are so colourful
Right, a jumper to finish, enjoy the weekend
take care

how annoying to have a wasted trip! the lilies do look gorgeous...

Quite disappointing xcx
DeleteThe lilies are lovely. Frustrating about the flea treatment not being there and the jumper needing to be sorted. However, as you say, it would have annoyed you more to leave the mistakes in!

Quite pleased with the flowers in the courtyard this year. xcx
DeleteWe occasionally (as in pre-Covid) go to Jalon to buy olive oil and sweet wine for Sr P in the Cooperativa there. Sr P always likes the free wine tasting there :-) I remember there was a butchers we liked and what we bought was very good. I have never wandered around the town centre though as we usually carry on and continue up into the mountains and make an outing of it. It is a very beautiful area of the province. It is much nearer though for you although pretty tedious if you couldn't find what you wanted. Those lilies are glorious such a striking colour! keep well Amanda x
ReplyDeleteThey used to have a rastro just opposite the Cooperative, so weekends used to be busy, so many independent shops have gone now, so sad. If it was the same butchers, they had loads of chorizo etc hanging from the ceiling, it was an interesting place to go take care xcx
DeleteYour lilies are beautiful, such a striking display. Hope the next trip to the vets goes better, and you might have a more successful visit to the charity shop then too.
